The Dorset Carers Partnership Group (DCPG)

Developed during the COVID-19 Pandemic, The Dorset Carers Partnership Group (DCPG) is a local carers professional network that brings together key partners working with carers across the Dorset-wide footprint (both BCP and Dorset Council areas).

The group enables members to:

  • Network
  • Raise awareness of support for carers
  • Discuss carer related issues and areas of challenge
  • Share feedback and,
  • Work in collaboration for the benefit of carers on a range of projects in line with the Pan Dorset Carers Strategy priorities.

The DCPG supports the Pan Dorset Carers Steering Group, who set the Pan Dorset Carers strategy, by providing feedback on key areas of carer support and taking actions into practice. Think Tanks and Task and Finish groups (as extensions of the DCPG) enable further discussions to take place on specific areas in need of development and research. This collaborative approach helps to achieve the aims of the Pan Dorset Carers Strategy by reducing gaps in support and promoting partnership working across Dorset.

Some projects and achievements so far include:

Organisations and professionals that support, have contact with or connections with carers can join the DCPG and be involved in developing carers friendly communities. If you would like to know more about the group, pleaseĀ get in touch.
